This role is based at a prestigious residential establishment working with the memory impaired residents.

As Co-ordinator of this section you will be responsible for planning, organising and developing the overall operation of the reminiscence section.

Overseeing all staff and ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained, you will also be required to complete and adhere to annual budgetary requirements and attend regular managerial meetings. You will be required to establish good relationships with the local Alzheimer’s Society Branch and other Alzheimer’s advisory organisations and organise speakers from community groups and organisations to provide educational support for the families and residents.

Experience required:

  • NVQ 4 & RMA
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • 2 years experience in residential care and experience with memory impaired senior population.
  • Experience of dementia population preferred
  • Caring and compassionate attitude
  • Good communication skills.

Assisting the Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the welfare of individuals based in this section. The duties will involve meeting with residents and their family members to assess their individual needs and requirements and designing an appropriate programme. You will also be responsible for ensuring the required level of staffing is achieved.

Experience required:

  • NVQ 2 / 3 in Care Management
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • 2 years experience in long term care of assisted living
  • Experience of dementia population preferred
  • Caring and compassionate attitude
